Choctaw Defense manufactures a wide variety of military and commercial fabricated products. We have produced thousands of aluminum and steel military shipping and storage containers since 1988. These containers are built to military design and specifications and are used to store and ship items such as guided missles, helicopter engines, and radar systems.
Though we are well known as a premier supplier of military grade containers, this is only a portion of the products we manufacture. We are the sole supplier to the U.S. Army for the Improved Army Space Heater (IASH). the IASH provides automatic remote or manual temperature controlled heating to meet the environmental control needs of personnel and equipment in shelters, vans, and other enclosed areas for the U.S. military. this enhanced version of the ASH will include an adaptation to equip the unit to provide clean filtered air in chemically or biologically contaminated environments.
Choctaw Defense also manufactures a variety of ground support equipment such as generator power distribution panels, heavy electrical cabling, helicopter rotor shuttle units, aircraft radar mounting equipment and pollution control equipment.
The Choctaw Defense manufacturing plants are ISO 9001:2000 compliant and are fully equipped and staffed to perform custom "job shop" manufacturing to full scale, long term production.
Choctaw Defense offers a variety of manufacturing capabilities, including machining, welding, chemical finishing/painting, and assembly. Choctaw Defense operates fully equipped chemical processing facilities at both the Hugo and McAlester plants. Each facility is capable of high rate processing of metal components for:
Passivation: QQ-P-35
Chromate Conversion: MIL-C-5541
Phosphatization: TT-C-490
Choctaw Defense employs over 30 welding personnel certified in a variety of materials and welding variables using semi-automatic, automatic, spot and seam procedures. Our staff is also qualified in several non-destructive examination (NDE) techniques for weld and material inspection. Choctaw Defense can create and qualify and weld procedure required to conform to military or commercial specification.
Choctaw Defense also utilizes cutting edge technology with the
SIAKI 200KVA Spot and Seam Welding Machine.
Choctaw Defense can transform raw metal sheet or solid stock material into virtually and shape or form using a large array of precision computer controlled metal forming equipment.
Metal forming equipment includes:
Amada Vipros 357 CNC Turret Punch Press
Amada HFE 80-25S, CNC Press Brake
Wysong, H-2510, Programmable Shear
Wysong, Model 3121, Programmable Break
Allsteel, Model 1350, Programmable Break
Machining of metals, plastics, and fiberglass is central to most of the items which are manufactured by Choctaw Defense. The majority of machining performed by Choctaw Defense utilizes Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machining equipment. All CNC programming is performed in-house using CAD/CAM by Choctaw Defense engineering personnel.
Machining equipment includes:
Johnsford VMC-3000SHD 3-axis CNC Vertical Milling Center
Komo VMC-40 3-axis CNC Vertical Milling Center
5-axis CNC Precision Milling Center
Romeo CNC Water Jet Cutting Machine
CNC Plasma Arc Cutting Machine
Choctaw Defense's high capacity paint lines feature the ability to apply paint coatings using a traditional wet film application process or powder coat process in separate booths and spray rooms. Overhead track systems are used to shuttle production items through the entire paint process as well as through various manufacturing cells.
Paint coatings are applied in conformance with several military and commercial specifications, including:
Wet Film Paint Application: MIL-PRF-85285
Powder Coat Paint Application: CMDC SPEC. C14
Chemical Agent Resistive Coating: MIL-C-53072B(ME), MIL-C-2750, MIL-C-46168, MIL-C-53039
The Water Jet machining process adds a new dimension to Choctaw Defense's business capability. WaterJet and Abrasive WaterJet is a proven process in precision part production. The WaterJet system will machine complex flat parts out of most materials. Metal, plastics, glass, ceramics, and engineered composites can be machined to a postioning accuracy within +/- .005 inches. It also cuts extremely hard, reflective and non-conductive materials, making it a natural addition to existing shop capabilities.
Choctaw Defense implemented WaterJet cutting as a natural progression to the other processes performed:
Milling, tube bending, precision sawing, turning, forming, wet & powder-coat painting, and welding
Not only does this enhance the range of products offered, but it also expands upon the ability to deliver quality parts to out customers' specification.
