Choctaw Defense, formerly operating as Choctaw Manufacturing and Development Corporation (CMDC), is a completely owned corporation of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. Choctaw Defense operates three ISO-9001:2000 compliant manufacturing facilities located in Antlers, Hugo and McAlester, Oklahoma. These plants are located within the historic boundaries of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. Choctaw Defense is incorporated as a tribally owned corporation and is certified by the SBA as a Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) and is also HUBZone certified by the SBA.
1988 - Choctaw Manufacturing and Development Corporation (CMDC) began production of Laser Guided Bomb Components for Texas Instruments from the Hugo, Oklahoma facility.
1998 - The company was granted HUBZone and 8(a) classifications from the U.S. Small Business Administration. These certifications have allowed Choctaw Defense to greatly expand its capabilities and demonstrate proven performance in a broad range of manufacturing specialties. Choctaw Defense was awarded the prestigious Nunn-Perry Award (named in honor of former Senator Sam Nunn and former Secretary of Defense William Perry) for outstanding Mentor-Protégé teams formed under the DoD Mentor-Protégé program.
2001 - Choctaw Defense acquired the McAlester, Oklahoma Industrial Park and more than doubled its manufacturing space.
2008 - Construction was completed on an 80,000 sq.-ft. facility at the McAlester Industrial Park for the production of MTVR-Trailers.
Today - Choctaw Defense has more than 200 employees fulfilling contracts for the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines, as well as Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Raytheon. |
